Karl Storz has received FDA clearance for its Rubina Lens exoscope, expanding the company’s near-infrared (NIR) imaging technology into open surgical procedures in the US.

The camera-based system provides surgeons with a real-time, magnified 4K view of the surgical field and can switch to NIR imaging using indocyanine green (ICG) to highlight information not visible to the naked eye.
