Catheter & Medical Design and VitalDyne Medical — makers of complex medical catheter systems — have rebranded under the name VitalPath.

The move comes about five months after CMD’s March 2021 acquisition of VitalDyne.

“After joining forces with VitalDyne, we wanted to develop a name that would represent our shared energy around our specialty — building complex catheters and subassemblies to meet our customers’ most challenging requirements,” VitalPath CEO Randall Sword said in a news release.

“’Vital’ means full of health and energy, which reflects our passion for our work, as well as the life-saving work our complex catheters do in the hands of healthcare providers. ‘Path’ represents navigating vital pathways of the body with complex catheters. It also refers to guiding our customers through the entire product development pathway, from rapid prototyping to finished device assembly and packaging,” Sword said.

The Roseville, Minn.–based company also has a new website at vitalpath.com.

VitalPath will exhibit at booth  No. 1714 at MD&M West, Aug. 10-12, 2021 in Anaheim, Calif.
