The collaboration includes the integration of Eko’s suite of telehealth APIs with the Caregility Cloud telehealth software.

Digital health company Eko has entered a partnership with enterprise telehealth platform company Caregility to bring smart stethoscope technology to telehealth platforms.

The collaboration will see Caregility ’s cloud platform and Eko ’s smart stethoscopes and software seamlessly integrated.

This will allow users of Caregility ’s iConsult application to perform advanced auscultation (heart, lung and other body sounds) on patients during virtual physical exams.

As part of the collaboration, the Eko Connect suite of telehealth application programming interfaces (APIs) will also be integrated with the Caregility Cloud telehealth software.

It will now be possible for Caregility ’s telehealth solution to provide real-time phonocardiogram (PCG) and electrocardiogram (ECG) waveform visuals, as well as live-streaming stethoscope sounds in a familiar interface.

Eko stated that the integration is compatible with its complete range of smart stethoscopes, which include the DUO ECG + Digital Stethoscope, CORE Digital Stethoscope Attachment and 3M Littmann CORE Digital Stethoscope.

Care teams can also quickly work together to conduct a thorough stethoscope examination on a patient during an iConsult virtual care session.

Eko co-founder and chief strategy officer Jason Bellet said: “Caregility and Eko share a mission to provide healthcare professionals and institutions with technologies that enable them to give their patients the best care possible, in-person or remote.”

With one touch, users can now wirelessly connect an Eko stethoscope with a Caregility Access Point of Care Systems (APS) telehealth device or tablet.

This simplified workflow removes additional complications and allows the care team to stay within the Caregility ’s iConsult application and concentrate on conducting a high-quality virtual visit.

Caregility Business Development senior vice-president and chief strategy officer Peter McLain said: “The ability for care teams to easily and accurately assess a patient’s body sounds in real-time will have a meaningful impact on our hybrid care delivery models, including telenursing, telerounding, tele-ICU and at-home care.

“Eko ’s unparalleled digital stethoscope sound quality and waveform visualisation software will build clinician confidence, reduce workflow friction and ultimately improve patient outcomes.”
