Viz.ai announced that it launched an AI-powered radiology suite for alerting radiologists and connecting care teams in real-time.

San Francisco-based Viz.ai designed the suite to alert radiologists in their workflow of suspected diseases. It also prioritizes worklists and connects care teams while integrating into picture archiving and communications systems (PACS). This helps to securely facilitate access to imaging data across departments while streamlining patient diagnosis.

“With an increasing demand for imaging studies and a global shortage of radiologists, technologies that can be easily integrated into radiology workflows to enhance efficiency and streamline patient care are sorely needed,” said Dr. Allan Brook, director of interventional neuroradiology at Montefiore Medical Center and professor of radiology and neurosurgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. “The Viz Radiology Suite offers radiologists important capabilities for optimizing imaging data and accelerating patient assessments with robust AI-powered features, such as real-time notifications, easy-to-use communication tools, and prioritized worklists.”

The suite provides a mobile and web image viewer with AI-powered notifications directly to the worklist. The PACS integration enables efficient care coordination. Viz.ai said in a news release that the platform provides a range of FDA-cleared algorithms. These span across neurovascular, vascular and cardiology diseases.

“We recognize the critical role that radiologists play within the healthcare ecosystem, and with this in mind, we continue to invest the necessary time and resources into understanding how we can best support them and the patients they serve,” said David Golan, CTO and co-founder at Viz.ai. “As a result, we are excited to offer the Viz Radiology Suite, an AI-powered set of capabilities specifically designed for radiologists to advance patient care.”

Viz.ai appoints radiology board to advance innovation

Along with the unveiling of the radiology suite, Viz.ai created a radiology advisory board. The aim is to assist the company in the development of strategy and products. The board features 14 healthcare experts with diverse experience and roles in radiology.

Viz.ai appointed Dr. Kevin Abrams and Dr. Suzie Bash as co-chairs for the board. Abrams serves as medical director of neuroradiology and MRI and chief of radiology at Baptist Hospital in Miami. Bash is medical director of neuroradiology at San Fernando Valley Interventional Radiology at RADNET.

The board’s responsibilities include strategy and R&D activities. Viz.ai plans for members to identify clinical needs for new features and modes of implementation. Additional responsibilities include verifying new capabilities and providing strategic advice on emerging trends.

“The deep expertise of our Board will propel Viz.ai to new heights by driving the development of products that will support radiologists in their work and enhance patient outcomes,” said Jayme Strauss, chief clinical officer at Viz.ai. “We are immensely grateful for the expertise, time, and support of our Board members and proud to partner with them on this important endeavor.”
